Data cross-checked. Computed from the 4-hour candles of the HYPE perpetual on Hyperliquid, summed by UTC day (dollar volume = HYPE volume x each candle's average of open, high, low and close). HYPE price: Coin Metrics Community Data, cross-checked daily against Bitstamp daily HYPE/USD close (independent exchange): median difference 0.15% over 331 days (2025-11-25 to 2026-10-21); 95% of days within 1.05%; the HYPE/USDC spot market on Hyperliquid itself: median difference 0.20% over 678 days (2024-12-13 to 2026-10-21); 95% of days within 0.93%. Volume: No independent archive of Hyperliquid's per-coin volume exists without an API key, so the checks use Hyperliquid's own data. Our daily USD volume, summed from 4-hour candles (each candle's HYPE volume times the average of its open, high, low and close), is within 0.94% (median) of Hyperliquid's separate legacy statistics series, halved because it counts both sides of each trade (frozen on 2026-04-03), and within 5.63% on 95% of 483 days. Over the last 208 days, the 4-hour candles hold the same HYPE volume and trade count as the 1-hour candles (208 of 208 days), and a USD volume within 0.09% (median). Read live, the rolling 24-hour volume Hyperliquid serves with its market data is within 0.7% of the last 24 hourly candles. Checked 2026-10-23. Data status

Formula

Volume (USD) = Σ over the six 4-hour candles of each UTC day of HYPE volume × (open + high + low + close) ÷ 4. Volume (HYPE) and trades = sums over the same candles. 7D mean = average of the last 7 daily dollar volumes.

How to read it

Each bar is the dollar value of all trades in the HYPE perpetual on Hyperliquid during one UTC day, counting every trade once, as exchanges do when they quote a 24-hour volume. The line is the 7-day average, and the table and downloads add the volume in HYPE and the number of trades.

Volume shows how much activity and liquidity sit behind a price move. Moves that come with rising volume involve more traders and positions; moves on thin volume are easier to reverse. The tallest bars usually mark days of forced buying or selling, when liquidations pile on top of ordinary trading.

The HYPE perpetual trades on Hyperliquid's own order book, next to the token's main spot market, HYPE/USDC. Futures activity has grown much faster than spot: in October 2026 the perpetual traded about seven times as much as HYPE/USDC on Hyperliquid, against roughly the same amount in its first month.

Limitations

  • One venue and one contract: the HYPE perpetual on Hyperliquid. Glassnode's futures volume adds up many exchanges; HYPE contracts on Binance, Bybit or OKX are not included, nor is spot trading.
  • Hyperliquid's candles give each 4-hour window's volume in HYPE and its open, high, low and close, not the dollar value of every trade, so the dollar volume is an estimate: it is within 0.94% (median) of Hyperliquid's own dollar figures over 483 days. Volume in HYPE and trade counts are exact sums.
  • The figures come from Hyperliquid's public API, which carries no explicit data licence. No independent archive of per-market Hyperliquid volume exists without an API key, so the checks use Hyperliquid's own data: its legacy statistics series (which stopped updating on 3 April 2026 and counts both sides of each trade, so it is halved) and its 1-hour candles.
  • Hyperliquid's daily candles are not used, because the one for 20 April 2025 is missing about a third of that day's volume. The history starts on 2024-12-06, the first full day after the contract listed. Like any exchange volume, it can include trades between accounts of the same owner, which public data cannot separate.
