Formula

HYPE in BTC = HYPE/USD close / BTC/USD close × 100,000,000, in satoshis per HYPE; both closes are Coin Metrics daily closes at 00:00 UTC. 200D SMA = simple average of the last 200 daily ratios.

How to read it

This chart prices HYPE in bitcoin instead of dollars: each day's HYPE close divided by that day's BTC close, counted in satoshis, the smallest unit of bitcoin (100,000,000 sats make one BTC). A reading of 95,847 sats means one HYPE was worth about 0.00096 BTC.

When the line rises, HYPE is gaining on bitcoin, whatever the dollar price did; when it falls, bitcoin is doing better. The dashed line is the 200-day average of the ratio, its long-term trend. The thin line on the right axis is the HYPE price in dollars, for context.

The left axis is logarithmic, so equal vertical steps are equal percentage changes. Between December 2024 and October 2026 the ratio ranged from about 13,100 sats in April 2025 to about 116,100 sats in June 2026.

Limitations

  • A cross rate through the US dollar (HYPE/USD divided by BTC/USD), not the price of a HYPE/BTC trading pair. Both closes are taken at the same moment (00:00 UTC) from one provider, so the ratio carries no timing mismatch.
  • Cross-checked by rebuilding the ratio from Hyperliquid's own HYPE/USDC close and Bitstamp's BTC/USD close: about 0.17% apart on a typical day, 95% of days within 0.8%.
  • The history starts on 2024-12-13, the first daily HYPE close in our price source; the 200-day average starts on 2025-06-30.
  • A rising ratio says HYPE did better than bitcoin over that span; it does not say that either one rose in dollars.
