Data cross-checked. Computed from the validated daily BTC close (each cycle's close divided by its close on the cycle low). BTC price: cross-checked against Bitstamp daily BTC/USD close (independent exchange) (median difference 0.15% over 5,546 days (2011-08-18 to 2026-10-23); 95% of days within 1.78%). Formula

Cycle performance on day k = close k days after the cycle low / close on the cycle low. Cycle lows: 2011-11-18, 2015-01-14, 2018-12-16 and 2022-11-22. Each older cycle runs up to and including the next cycle's low and is shifted so that its day 0 falls on 2022-11-22.

How to read it

Each line follows one Bitcoin cycle from the day of its bear-market low, expressed as a multiple of the close on that day: 100% is the low itself, 200% means the price has doubled from it. The older cycles are slid forward in time so that every low lands on 22 November 2022, the low of the current cycle, and the dates on the time axis belong to the current cycle. Reading straight down from any date compares the cycles after the same number of days.

The multiples shrink from one cycle to the next. The cycle that began in November 2011 reached about 540 times its low at the December 2013 peak; the one from January 2015 about 112 times in December 2017; the one from December 2018 about 21 times in November 2021. The current cycle peaked so far at about 7.7 times its low in October 2025. The last three peaks all came roughly 1,050 to 1,070 days after their lows, and the solid line at 100% marks the level of each low.

The older traces stop at the next cycle's low, so each one shows a full round from bottom to bottom. With only four cycles behind it, the chart is a way to set the current cycle against its predecessors, not a forecast of where or when it ends.

Limitations

  • Built from one daily close per day (Coin Metrics Community Data). Glassnode builds its price from a volume-weighted average across exchanges, so the multiples can differ slightly; recomputed from Bitstamp's daily closes for the cycles since 2015, ours differ by a median 0.22% (95% of days within 2.6%). Most of that gap comes from the close on the January 2015 low, which differed by about 2.4% between sources on that crash day.
  • The low dates are the ones Glassnode uses for this chart. On our closes they sit within 2.7% of the lowest close of the months around them; the lowest 2022 close came earlier, on 9 November, during the FTX collapse, and a different choice of low would move every multiple of that cycle.
  • Glassnode also draws a first cycle from July 2010, hidden by default; our price history starts on 2010-07-18, so that cycle is left out.
  • The time axis carries the current cycle's dates, so the 2018 cycle, which lasted a few days longer than the current one so far, shows its last days only as the current cycle reaches them.
  • Four cycles are a small sample, and a low is only certain in hindsight: the current cycle's anchor could still be revised by a later, deeper low.
